Pair of majolica vases, Naples, 18th century

Ribbed body painted on the front in polychrome with an Oriental figure set within an ornamental scrollwork cartouche. The vases bear inscriptions on the reverse: the first reads “Fatti Nella Fabrica Del Sig.r D.Pietro Antonio Passeggi Genovese 1763”; the second is inscribed “(...) & Ioseph Vilardo p.runt A.D. 1763”, 25.5x17 cm (one with overglaze defects)
